The Rev. Dr. Pat Kriss
Rev. Dr. Pat Kriss has devoted the last 16 years of her career as an ordained pastor in the United Church of Christ. She was ordained by the Fairfield West Association, spending her first two years as Pastor in the Berkshires before becoming Senior Pastor for First Congregational Church, Danbury for the last 14 years. Pastor Pat- as she prefers to be called- holds a Master of Divinity Degree and Master of Sacred Theology from Yale Divinity School. In 2023 she received her Doctorate from Hartford International University. She is also a professional nonprofit fund raiser.
Pastor Pat was born and raised in Central New York State and on Cape Cod, before meeting her husband of 57 years, Gary Kriss. An artist and a published cartoonist who has written for many publications, as well as Yale, Pastor Pat considers that humor and illustrating scripture with its beauty are the building blocks for Jesus’ parables and connects it to the stories of our lives. Pat and Gary live with “pulpit puppy” Spirit and Nessie, an opinionated cat.
